The National Assembly of Pakistan has approved a proposal to teach Quran translation in all colleges and universities in the country.
Ali Muhammad Khan, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, presented the proposal at a session of the National Assembly on the sidelines of the Speaker's meeting with Asad Kaiser.
The proposal says that the Qur'an should be taught with meaning in all the universities in the provinces of the country where the Qur'an is not taught with translation.
It is further said that a new door of knowledge will be opened for our generation by reading the Urdu translation of the Qur'an.
The proposal presented by Ali Muhammad Khan was passed unanimously in Parliament.
Recently, it was decided to teach the Holy Quran with translation in the universities of Punjab, the most populous province of Pakistan. Even studying the Qur'an with translation is an essential condition for obtaining a degree in the universities there.
